Delete your Yabike account

Last updated: 6 September 2026

This page explains how to delete your Yabike account and everything stored with it. Yabike is a personal finance app for the mobile money era. Most of your data never leaves your phone, so deleting your account and clearing the app are two separate steps — both are described below.

Option 1 — delete it here with Google

If you signed in to Yabike with Google, you can delete your account from this page, whether or not the app is still installed. Signing in here only proves the account is yours; it never creates one.

Sign in to confirm it’s you

Use the Google account you signed in to Yabike with. Nothing is deleted at this step — you will see what will be removed and have to confirm.

Option 2 — delete it in the app

If you signed up with a phone number, this is your route. It takes effect immediately.

  1. Open Yabike and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Account & Sync.
  3. Scroll to Delete account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm.

Your account and the server-side data listed below are erased as soon as you confirm. The action cannot be undone, and your cloud backups cannot be recovered afterwards.

Option 3 — ask us by email

If you have already uninstalled Yabike, lost access to your phone number, or cannot sign in, email yabike.app@gmail.com and tell us you want your account deleted.

So that we never delete the wrong person’s data, we will first ask you to confirm that the account is yours — by replying from the registered email address, or by confirming a code we send to the registered phone number. Please do not include your passcode or any one-time codes in your message. We will never ask you for them.

We acknowledge requests within 7 days and complete them within 30 days.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the following from our servers:

  • Your account record — your phone number, email address and sign-in identity, together with the key used to encrypt your backups.
  • Every cloud backup — all stored versions and the encrypted files themselves.
  • Imported statement data — the mobile money statements tied to your number and every transaction read from them.
  • Trial and subscription records — your access history and its current state.
  • AI usage counters and in-app analytics events — the per-account records of how you used Yabike.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Payment records. If you ever paid for Yabike, the record of that payment is kept as an accounting record, marked as belonging to a deleted account and no longer tied to an account profile. We keep these for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Aggregate service logs. Operational records of AI requests — timings, model name and token counts — are kept for cost accounting. They contain no financial data and no part of anything you asked or the assistant replied, and the link to your account is removed when you delete it, so what remains identifies nobody.

Statement data that you never delete yourself is removed automatically 30 days after it is imported, whether or not you delete your account.

Data on your phone

Your budgets, wallets, goals and transactions live in a database on your own device, and deleting your account does not touch them. To remove that copy, uninstall Yabike, or clear the app’s storage under Android Settings → Apps → Yabike → Storage → Clear data. Any backup file you exported yourself is yours to delete.
